In today's economic climate we need a NEW ECONOMIC PLATFORM for long term sustainable development. A feasible way to move the world forward and balance the economies of the Developing Nations with those economies of Developed Nations is to introduce an economic platform that is realistic and practical for the Developing Nations to contribute to - the bank for International Ideas is such a platform, whereby Intellectual Capital is created and is the essential part of a process which leads to the development of Intellectual Property.
The bank for International Ideas, (BII) will be similar in structure to the Bank for International Settlements,
(BIS)
located in Basel, Switzerland. The bank for International Settlements is the premier bank for the world’s
central banks; it operates as the central depository for the central banks of the world as well as the managing
and tracking of currency price stabilization between those central banks and their respective countries. The
Bank for International Ideas will operate and function in a similar fashion, thus creating a data bank or a
depository of ideas
from around the world.
The Bank for International Ideas will facilitate the discovery as well as the development of ideas, in the area of
economic development through the creation of New Businesses, Land Infrastructure Projects, Environmental
Projects, Scientific Research, and Technological Projects. The overriding goal of the Bank for International
Ideas is to spur development throughout the world by creating a single centralize database depository in one
location, in this location will be the world’s Intellectual Capital. In order to capitalize on the emerging
opportunities in this current business era, it is not simply enough for information to be at our fingertips, but this
information must also be at a centralized location, thus alleviating the need to search and compile data from
several different sources and locations.
The Unification of the world’s Intellectual Capital, will chart for us which course we as citizens of the global
community should take. This approach will not only bring more efficiency to the economic development
process, but it will also streamline the assessment process which determines were resources are allocated.
Intellectual Capital
is the essential part of a process which leads to the development of Intellectual Property; it
begins simply with an idea which is then developed into a "plan, process, or project", upon completion of this
Intellectual Capital process, a new stage begins, which is the formation of Intellectual Property. The Bank for
International Ideas will be a fully operational bank which will establish an account for each individual or group
who becomes a member of the bank, this account will be a depository account, which will maintain the assets
of that individual or group. The Intellectual Capital will be the assets, but the value of these assets shall not
be determined until they are converted to Intellectual Property.
The conversion process from Intellectual Capital to Intellectual Property is a continuum such as this….
Intellectual Capital - Original Idea - Proposal & Project - Copyright & Patent - Intellectual Property
The Bank for International Ideas will maintain two portfolios one for Intellectual Capital and the other for
Intellectual Property. The portfolio for Intellectual Capital will consist of assets such as; Business plans,
Engineering Designs, Project Development Proposal, and Source Codes for Software, Scientific Research
Studies, and other Intellectual data still in the initial stage of development.
The portfolio for Intellectual Property will consist of assets which have been funded with initial seed money
or underwritten by an institution or organization.
The assets of the Bank for International Ideas, -- Intellectual Capital and Intellectual Property; can be utilize in
the same way as Special Drawing Rights (SDRs), which is an instrument of the International Monetary Fund
(IMF).
The SDR is an international reserve asset; it was created by the IMF in 1969 to supplement the existing official
reserves of member countries. SDRs are allocated to member countries in proportion to their IMF quotas. The
SDR also serves as the unit of account of the IMF and some other international organizations. The value is
based on a basket of key international currencies. The (SDRs) were establish to be a support function of the
Bretton Woods fixed exchange rate system, thus a country participating in this system needed official
reserves—government or central bank holdings of gold and widely accepted foreign currencies—that could be
used to purchase the domestic currency in the world foreign exchange markets, as required to maintaining its
exchange rate. But the international supply of two key reserve assets—gold and the U.S. dollar—proved
inadequate for supporting the expansion of world trade and financial development that was taking place.
Therefore, the international community decided to create a new international reserve asset under the auspices
of the IMF.
The assets of the Bank for International Ideas, Intellectual Capital and Intellectual Property can operate as key
assets to further international development, by creating a bridge from the 20th century economic system of
fixed exchange rates, to the 21st century economic system; which will eventually transform itself into a flexible
exchange rate system. In order to operate a global flexible exchange rate system successfully, their must first
be several financial instruments in place to establish the proper standard of measurement and value. The Bank
for International Ideas will assist in facilitating the establishment of these financial instruments, as well as
uniting the global financial community towards that end. As awareness for the Bank grows and continues to
expand throughout the world, via -- government organizations, non-governmental organizations, institutions,
and the media, the investment community will begin to take notice; once this paradigm shift has taken place
and word of mouth continues to grow, investors will soon look to the Bank as the premier source for
Intellectual Capital and Intellectual Property.
The Bank for International Ideas will be a virtual bank; the infrastructure of the bank will coexists
within an existing administrative infrastructure such as the World Bank. This particular type of organizational
structure will reduce start up cost for the bank as well as expedite the launching of the bank.
The overriding success of the Bank for International Ideas, ----- is the simplicity of the bank itself, it is a global
bank of ideas, which assets are Intellectual Capital and Intellectual Property
, these assets will be utilize as a means to an end, which is to further economic development throughout the world. The bank will generate
revenues through an annual membership fee, which will go towards maintaining the integrity of the assets for
each account, as well as draw additional administrative fees from members who add new Intellectual Capital or
Intellectual Property to their accounts within a certain time frame. The third revenue stream will come from the
investment community which can set up their own accounts free of charge; these accounts will allow the
investors to search between the two portfolios, Intellectual Capital and Intellectual Property; to assess rather to
fund a project or a proposal at the initial stages of development or further down the line when the project or
proposal has received some interest. Once a project or a proposal has been given a green light and funded by a
group of investors, or underwritten by an institution; the bank for international ideas will received a percentage
of the overall funding packages.
How the Ideas will be Discovered

Universities - Corporations - Governments - NGOs - Finance -Organizations and a Pool of Ideas from individuals.
