On Dec 2nd the President of the United Nations General Assembly, Csaba Kőrösi, held a town hall with hundreds of Civil Society representatives. Five organizations were given the floor for a few minutes each, aligning their talks with one of President Kőrösi’s 5 major pathways to solutions – Solidarity, Science, Dignity, Collaboration and Personal Responsibility.

Reflections on the Cycle of Conference Initiative Focus on the UN Transforming Education Summit

During World Goodwill’s recent Cycle of Conferences visualization initiative in September, seeds of living will energy were imaginatively projected into the Transforming Education Summit at the United Nations General Assembly. The initiative marked an attempt by an esoteric group to enter into the heart of the thoughtform under construction at the Summit, identifying in the thinking of Summit participants universal principles outlined by wisdom teachings throughout the ages; and then, through a process sometimes referred to as ‘subtle activism’,  ‘seeing’ these principles being energized by the ‘group gaze’.

The Transformative Power of Education

In tandem with the high-level week at the United Nations came the Transforming Education Summit. Though not explicitly related to the crises and discussions of world leaders, it was immediately clear that education is related indirectly to nearly all facets of human living—its problems and their solutions.

2022 UN Transforming Education Summit - Solutions Day Events

The Solutions Day of the Transforming Education Summit which took place in New York, 15-19 September 2022, focused on initiatives already underway or in the planning stages. Following an opening plenary session, fifty events were offered throughout the day.  All Solutions events were organised by at least three entities from at least two different member states, in an effort to encourage diversity.

The main dynamics active in the 2022 UN Transforming Education Summit

This year’s UN Transforming Education Summit was, in the words of Amina Mohamed, the UN Deputy Secretary General, a once in a century event as it brought together heads of states, major actors in education – both governmental and non-governmental, and youth representatives. The Summit structure marked the UN’s intention to involve youth more actively in the policy-making process as the future outcomes of any policy decided in the present, mainly concern them. The event was spread over three days, beginning with youth-led Mobilisation Day, moving on to Solution Day, orchestrated by major actors in education, and concluding with Leadership Day, involving heads of state.
