The Science of Service

The following remarks were broadcast in the Triangles Webinar on January 1, 2018:

We can all play a rich and meaningful part in the work of planetary service: of lifting our fellow human beings closer to the light and countenance of Hierarchy, of offering tenderness to the little lives in the animal kingdom, and of respecting the habitats in the natural world. Where we are, at any given time, and in which circumstances and the hand of fate play their part, we live and serve, and contribute our small measure to the evolving Whole. In truth, our field of service is all around us. And, if we can be trusted to perform our duties and responsibilities in the small things of life, then at some point we will be entrusted to do likewise in the great affairs of the world and of the planet.

We draw our motivation and inspiration to serve, first and foremost, from our own inner self, the Christ within, the soul, whose Presence is ever with us, and whose light and love eternally shine, and whose wisdom is profound. The soul is ever group conscious, aware of the unfolding Plan of God, and an intrinsic part of our very being, whose guiding and beneficent hand has been with us since the dawn of time. Slowly, we move from a recognition that we have a soul to a growing realisation that we are the soul, whose essence is unconditional love and compassion absolute.

Inspiration comes from other sources too, such as the wisdom of the sacred scriptures, from the music of the masters of sound, the composers who left their legacy to succeeding generations and who gave to the world such a vast array and depth of musical perfection. The beauty and creativity in art and literature too offer their pearls in pictorial imagery and written expression. And, likewise, the natural world, whose splendour, majesty and grace fills us with awe and wonder. The inspirational lives of so many, past and present, too are a testimony to the success of the evolutionary process and a fitting reminder that many others too have trod the holy path of service. Their lives are like lighted beacons, focused and serene, against a background of relative darkness.

How then can we play our part in serving a weary and distressed humanity, with so many eking an existence on its fringes, marginalised and fearful of the future, with homelessness,  crime and drug addiction in our inner cities. What hope can we offer to the countless and increasing millions living in squalid refugee camps, stateless and in dire conditions or the innocent civilians caught up in ravaged and war torn countries, such as Syria and Yemen. The list of human problems is endless and daunting, and behind these words are distressed and suffering human beings, young and old, who have to endure the same hardships each and every day. And, whilst, most of us are unable to aid these people in their own environments, we can harness the power of creative and lighted thought to help bring about those lasting and profound changes in human consciousness that will banish forever from the face of the earth, the scourge of poverty, inequality, corruption, and the imprisonment of the human soul.

Perhaps, the ‘winter of our discontent’, is passing, and the spring of hope approaches. The rich verdure of spiritual life flows bringing the new flowers of ideas to the dusty plains of earth. These ideas will work out as expressions that benefit the Whole, and that serve the common good and well-being. The human family is entering into an era of light and of beauty, the Aquarian age, a 2500 year cycle in which the joy, freedom and creativity of the soul will flourish. The supreme vision that the Christ held aloft 2000 years ago, of the love of God and the brotherhood of man is poised to become the reality of tomorrow. But His work is not yet complete and He waits in “His high place until the demand is adequate and the cry clear enough to warrant His appearance”.

As we draw light and goodwill into the magnetic planetary etheric field in our service together each day, the alignment and relationship between the Christ, the Hierarchy and Humanity is reinforced. And, each and every triangle, plays its unique and indispensable part in the ongoing work of planetary renewal. Service is the outstanding contribution of the soul to the greater Whole (and is as instinctual to the soul as selfishness is to the personality).

Service has been described as “the spontaneous outflow of a loving heart and an intelligent mind”.  So, what greater purpose can there be but to live a life of service to the unfolding Plan of God, to the human family, and to those great (illumined) souls who guide, inspire and protect the human family. What greater joy can there be but to give back to the greater Whole that which we have taken from it in the course of our evolution and forever, SERVE.

So, with these thoughts in mind, you may be interested to learn that the December issue of the Triangles Bulletin features the theme of service. The Bulletin is a quarterly publication sent out at no charge to Triangles co-workers around the world. The lead article 'The Science of Service' provides the focus, and a selection of reflections from a number of visionary and progressive thinkers on the theme of service are also included. So, if you would like a copy, then please let us know by email. You can also read it online, download it  and also register to receive the quarterly Bulletin at no charge from our website, please click here .

As we start a new year, hope ever springs eternal, and there is a renewed opportunity to serve where we are in our own particular circumstances. Each and every day, we are presented with situations and events in which we can draw on the beauty, wisdom and love of the soul to bring these very same qualities into our own environment.

So, we would like to thank you all for your loving support. We look forward to our work together this year, and we wish you all a joyous, blessed and light filled year.
