International Light Association

The International Light Association (ILA) was founded in Belgium in 2003. ILA’s mission is to share and disseminate information; educate; initiate and promote research; and create an open-hearted, broad-minded and integrative community in the field of Light.

The Association is a uniquely collaborative group of light and colour therapy practitioners, health professionals, scientists, educators, product manufacturers, artists, architects, interior designers and philosophers who are passionate about learning and applying the latest theories, techniques and technologies regarding how light and colour can promote health, enhance performance and learning and raise consciousness. 
 
Its aims are to: 

• develop a network of people who are focused on the therapeutic uses of Light 
• determine professional standards and develop a code of ethics in the field of Light and its applications 
• disseminate information about the field of Light 
• provide integrative education about Light and its applications 
• promote internationally the field of Light, its applications, and link to members and their work 
• represent professionals in the field of Light 
• receive and disseminate funds for the support of relevant research and education 

ILA will hold its 13th Conference in Vienna, Austria from 20 - 23 March, 2016 at the Sigmund Freud University. The Conference aims to communicate a wider knowledge about light.

On Saturday, March 19, there will be a pre-conference workshop by Dr. Jacob Liberman on the theme ‘Following the Science of Light and Vision toward Inner Peace and Fulfilment’.

Some of the other themes scheduled over the Conference period are: ‘Light is Looking for You’, ‘How intentional experimentation with photons shapes personal reality’, ‘Light and Colours in Psychotherapy’, ‘Light in Action’, ‘Light and Health – Building Lighting’, ‘Colours & Sounds based on the Heart Rate Variability’, ‘Auricular Chromotherapy in Psychological Trauma’, ‘The Use of Sound Coupled with Coloured Lenses for Psychotherapeutic Effect’, ‘Light Therapies for Psychological Growth (Transformation)’, ‘Hygeia colour-light, Serenity and Bliss’, ‘Colours That Made my Life – Colorgram, the resources oriented colour biography’, ‘Using Data to Improve Outcomes in Light Therapy’ and ‘Portals of Sound and Light; Black Holes and Beyond’.

Also, every year, the ILA celebrates International Light Day (ILD) which is held on 21st, 22nd, or 23rd September to recognise the power of light.
