"I SEE AND WHEN THE EYE IS OPENED, ALL IS LIGHT."

Tradition holds that once a year, the Buddha bestows a special blessing upon the world. This outpouring of spiritual energy takes place during the full moon of the Indian month of Vaisakh (Wesak), under the sign of Taurus. It commemorates three pivotal events in the Buddha’s final earthly life as Gautama: his birth, his attainment of Buddhahood, and his transition beyond the physical plane. The word Buddha means ‘the awakened’ or ‘the enlightened one’. Centuries before Christ, He opened the path to enlightenment for all of humanity, paving the way for the illumination of the collective human consciousness. The entire theme of light permeates Wesak and resonates with Taurus’ keynote: “I see, and when the eye is opened, all is Light.”

Wesak marks the moment when the highest spiritual energies pour into the world. According to legend, a sacred ceremony takes place every year in a remote Himalayan valley, where, in the presence of pilgrims, the Buddha returns to transmit blessings from the highest realms to the Christ and the Spiritual Hierarchy. These energies then flow into humanity, empowering those who work in alignment with divine purpose. The Ancient Wisdom reminds us that this is not merely a legend but a living event – a sacred festival in which the Christ and the Buddha work in the closest spiritual union, using this peak moment at the full moon as a point of inspiration for the coming cycle.

Wesak represents the fusion of East and West – a moment of deep cosmic and planetary alignment. Traditionally observed through meditation and prayer, its significance is expected to grow ever more prominent in human consciousness as we move deeper into the Aquarian Age. Wesak holds special importance this year, when the centennial Great Conclave of the Hierarchy takes place, making the inflowing energies uniquely potent and marking the dawn of a new cycle of spiritual effort.

Three Spiritual Festivals

There are three major spiritual Festivals which form the high point in the annual cycle.

These are the Festival of Easter (at the Aries full moon), the Festival of Wesak (at the Taurus full moon), and the Festival of Goodwill (at the Gemini full moon)
