Meditation is the primary form of service for those following a spiritual path. It is a means of cooperation and alignment with hierarchical intent. The new moon period follows upon the cycle of out-breathing in the rhythmic cycles of the breath; it is a time of pause wherein together we can establish a soul-mind-brain alignment. During this period we work in thought to concretize the ideas and impressions received at the time of the full moon period and undertake the sometimes difficult process of translating them into practical plans that can be of service in the world. The effect of this meditative effort is to enhance the many ways in which the “power of the one Life” and the “love of the one soul” are working out through all true servers everywhere. World Goodwill and the Divine Plan
New Moon in January
Before Divine Thought or Ideation can act upon the manifested world and carry out that ‘Purpose for which the worlds were made’, it must make its way through graded Hierarchies of spiritual Lives. Prior to its final precipitation, it is formulated into an archetype or ‘Plan’—a formless but dynamic substance “impregnated with the energy of Will.”
The Plan has to do with the relation between the past, present, and future, and it vouchsafes a spiritual vision of the way forward for humanity and all lives which comprise the manifested world. For humanity, the Plan has three major goals: the revelation of love, the illumination of the mind, and the evocation of the will; it is based upon the ideal of brotherhood, on the will-to-good, and on the freedom of the whole.
While one part of this Plan involves the simultaneous externalization of the Hierarchy and its Ashrams, the Reappearance of the Christ, and the restoration of the mysteries of initiation, it also has to do with the raising of human consciousness and subsequent transformation of human civilization. The Plan is more than an ideal; it is a spiritual reservoir, portent with every divine possibility. Through its precipitation, nations, races, religions, and great ideologies are being lifted up and made anew.
