“STRENGTHENING THE HANDS OF THE NEW GROUP OF WORLD SERVERS”
Meditation is the primary form of service for those following a spiritual path. It is a means of cooperation and alignment with hierarchical intent. The new moon period follows upon the cycle of out-breathing in the rhythmic cycles of the breath; it is a time of pause wherein together we can establish a soul-mind-brain alignment. During this period we work in thought to concretize the ideas and impressions received at the time of the full moon period and undertake the sometimes difficult process of translating them into practical plans that can be of service in the world. The effect of this meditative effort is to enhance the many ways in which the “power of the one Life” and the “love of the one soul” are working out through all true servers everywhere. The meeting will be held in the library of our offices at 866 United Nations Plaza, Suite 482 on the fourth floor and will include an exploration on the theme To Seal the Door where Evil Dwells, followed by group discussion and meditation. To Seal the Door where Evil Dwells
The Great Invocation speaks of the task of the Plan as implemented by humanity to "seal the door where evil dwells." This is a symbolic way of expressing the idea of rendering evil purposes both inactive and ineffectual. The esoteric science tells us that there are various types and grades of evil that exist on our planet. The source of this evil, that which we call “cosmic evil,” is inherent in the very nature of matter itself. The domination of spirit (or its reflection, the soul) by matter is the true source of evil. Today, the entire planetary life is engaged in a great experiment of redemption whereby the substance of the planet (and all beings within it) is in process of being wrested from this ancient and separative force. This requires that this cosmic evil be sealed away and all life upon the planet freed from its influence.
Humanity has a special role to play in this redemptive process, for their actions determine whether evil is able to find expression and flourish, or be sealed away. The "door where evil dwells" is kept open by humanity through its selfish desire, its hatreds and its separateness, by its greed and its racial and national barriers, its low personal ambitions and its love of power and cruelty. As goodwill and light stream forth into human minds and hearts, these materialistic and separative tendencies give place to a longing for right human relations, to a determination to create a better and more peaceful world and to a worldwide expression of the will-to-good.
When humanity consciously aligns with the forces of materialism, retrogression, or separateness, the door where evil dwells is opened wide. Humanity closes this door by allying with and consciously invoking the higher realms of Spirit. Only the Spiritual Hierarchy, that great group of Nirvanis and enlightened souls, can truly seal this door. When humanity invokes Their aid, they will respond; the door will be sealed and humanity and the lower kingdoms in nature will be occultly “lifted up into heaven.” The meeting will examine this redemptive process in more detail and the role that invocation can play in our contemporary world.

1. In what ways do you see the contemporary world being invocative of higher spiritual aid?
2. Does the apparent rise of separatism in the field of politics indicate a resurgence of evil? Is it perhaps better described as a focalization of past wrongs and thus represent the planetary “dweller on the threshold”?
3. How does the growth of secularism impact the invocation to “seal the door where evil dwells?”
