Theme: The Changing Status of Women
The Pisces New Moon takes place ahead of the annual Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) at UN Headquarters in New York. This makes it a good day to reflect upon the focus on women and the rise of the feminine that has become such a characteristic of the group that ‘toils in Pisces’: the group of World Servers.
The Women’s Commission at the UN begins next Monday, March 11 and continues until Friday of the following week, March 22. During this time representatives of Member States will evaluate progress on gender equality, identify challenges, set global standards and formulate concrete policies to promote gender equality and advancement of women worldwide. Representatives of civil society will also meet at the UN in the NGO CSW Forum. We can imagine a concentration of thinking and energy on issues of gender equality, human rights and the slow path towards right human relations.
In reflecting on this issue, we will consider the role that SDG 5 (Achieve Gender Equality and Empower all Women and Girls) is having on societies around the world, as well as the complex issue of distinguishing between idealistic slogans about the status of women and the role of goodwill in the path towards right human relations. We will also explore the idea in the Ageless Wisdom that while India, France, the US, Russia and Brazil are feminine in their psychology; China, Germany, Great Britain and Italy are masculine.
