General Conditions for In The Tracks of Hercules
These conditions apply to the In the Tracks of Hercules event administered by the Selection Committee on behalf of Lucis Trust, London.
Submission of Work
� An Entry Form must accompany
all submissions.
� The creator of work accepted for In the Tracks of Hercules
will receive an Event Acceptance Form with an Event acceptance number.
� The receiving dates, delivery points and venue for the
In the Tracks of Hercules event will be notified to contributors
by the Selection Committee.
� Work is to be sent, with a signed and approved copy of
the Event Acceptance Form, to the delivery points notified by the Selection
Committee. Work can only be accepted on the receiving dates notified
by the Selection Committee and when signed by its creator.
� The Selection Committee and Lucis Trust accept no liability
for accepted works not being shown or included in the event as intended,
for whatever reason this may occur.
� The deadline for the submission of Performing arts large scale works - music, theatre,
dance - is 31 May 2005.
The deadline for the submission of small scale self-contained performance works
(maximum 7'), visual arts and literary material is 31 August 2005.
Care of Work
(i) The Selection Committee and Lucis Trust will not be liable
for any damage caused to work sent for exhibition that occur in
the ordinary course of handling, whether such damage is caused by
the negligence of the Selection Committee and Lucis Trust, or their
staff, or otherwise.
(ii) The Selection Committee and Lucis Trust will endeavour to
take good care of work sent for exhibition, but in the event of
a work sent for exhibition being lost, destroyed or damaged, other
than as stated in sub-paragraph (i) hereof, the Selection Committee
and Lucis Trust liability (if any) shall not in any event exceed
the value of the work as stated on the official Event acceptance Form
or that of any altered price that is subsequently notified to the
Selection Committee.
It is strongly advised that artists insure their own works.
Collection of Works
� Contributors will receive notice that work has been sold,
either by first class post, or by email the day after the event
finishes.
� The dates for collection of work after the event finishes
will be notified. These are the ONLY days that work can be collected
from the assigned collection points. Please ensure that arrangements
are made for your work to be collected or sent to you on the days
specified.
� Responsibility for works in transit or during the course
of the event remain with the owner.
� The owner will pay for all transportation costs and storage,
other than for the normal exhibition arrangements.
Storage Charges
� Any storage in any place shall, as stated above, be on
such conditions as the Selection Committee shall think fit, but,
in any event, shall be on terms which exempt the storer from all
liability for the safe custody and care of the works or pictures.
� The contributor will not be liable for any storage charges
up to and including the event.
Donation
A donation of 30% of the sale price of the work will be made to
Lucis Trust Ltd for any work sold as a result of In the Tracks of
Hercules. Any sale effected by the Selection Committee and Lucis
Trust will have priority over a sale effected by the contributor.
� The price of works stated on the Event Acceptance Form should
include the donation of 30% and VAT should be included if the artist
is VAT registered.
Specification of Submissions
All pictures must be suitable for hanging. Frames should have a
secure hanging chord or wire and be stout enough to accept small
screws for hanging purposes. Any statement of size should be exterior
frame size, or, in the case of a sculpture, the longest overall
measurement and weight.
Performing duration: maximum of 20 minutes.
Single poems, poem sequences or naratives: maximum of 3,000 words. The Selection Committee may
consult authors with lengthy works. All non-English submissions must be accompanied by an English translation.
Press Photographs
Unless otherwise stated by the artist by letter, works exhibited
may be photographed and reproduced for press purposes in connection
with the event.
Copyright
Copyright of all works remains the property of the contributor.
Any enquiries for copyright will be referred to the contributor.

The signing of the Event Acceptance Form is to be taken as the unreserved
acceptance of the entire contents of these conditions and those
on the Event Acceptance form by the signatory.
