Every unit of life, both on earth and in the whole universe has rhythm, it flows in a rhythmic movement, which can be best explained in terms of cycles. H. P. Blavatsky, in her Secret Doctrine, spoke about the universe as a boundless place, cyclically “the playground of numberless universes incessantly manifesting and disappearing”. These universes she called “the sparks of eternity”, a highly poetic expression pointing to the appearance and disappearance of countless worlds, like a tidal ebb of flux and reflux.

The etheric web has many functions and this can make is somewhat difficult to understand and define, at least in a concise way. This presentation will begin by giving a very basic overview of what the etheric body is, using numerology as a guide. Numbers are the basic symbol of all things; and being that all major energies meet and interact in the etheric body, this approach seems appropriate.

We are clearly living in remarkable times. Crises abound as humanity begins to address the problems that have arisen from a repression of the Real and an over-focus on the material and the superficial. This has led to a serious neglect of values of kindness, goodness, truth, beauty, justice, sharing. 

Yet, as was beautifully portrayed during the three ZOOM conferences hosted by World Goodwill in November, the spiritual dynamics of the crises facing humanity are leading to a renaissance of lighted thought and action in every area of life –  the conferences explored some of the practical ways this is working out in the field of international cooperation.

We are in the midst of the full moon energies of Sagittarius, the sign of one-pointed mental focus, and known as the ‘sign of silence’.  It is through mental focus and the right use of thought that there comes restraint of speech and consequent harmlessness on the physical plane. When this is considered in the light of the general thought-life of humanity we can begin to see the extent of our problem. The mental world of the majority consists of much judgmental and critical thought which is often fuelled by a constant stream of negative media, leading to much harmful speech.
