Triangles and the Over-Soul

In this brief talk, I will be relating Triangles to the concept of the Over-Soul, a somewhat “Westernization” of Eastern esoteric philosophy given to us by Emerson in the mid-1800s.

Triangles is a service in the emergence of the Over-Soul. It expands the spiritual life of the individuals participating by providing the opportunity to strive toward communion with the “simplicity of the soul” - the simplicity of the Over-Soul. That “simplicity” always was, as it is the very nature of the Over-Soul in its age long relationship to humanity. That simplicity is, quite simply, Universal Will, Universal Love and Universal Mind. Interpreted on the human scale, it is Soul Will, Soul Love, Soul Mind. And these three are simply the three elements of the human unit - personal will, personal love, personal mind. These tiered aspects provide the potential for communion and emergence through “harmony of similarity.”

Confusion in humanity comes in when one of these elements is emphasized to the exclusion of one or more of the other qualities. The complexity of misunderstanding occurs in regards to the Over-Soul when, say, love is over-emphasized, or mind, or even will. The “triangle” of the soul then has uneven “legs” and cannot stand. This condition is further exacerbated through the material interpretation and material application of any one or more of these simple soul aspects. In a sense, the reason we have not “discovered” the Over-Soul is due merely to this failure to balance all aspects. Conversely, in the balancing in consciousness of these triple aspects - Will, Love, Mind – we enable the process of “like attracting like” to commence. Indeed, it is mostly – if not only - through the realization of a harmony of similarity that the Over-Soul can be known.

The establishment of this harmony, this “knowing,” is a great achievement, unattainable by most people. But this lack of ability to be fully in harmony with the soul does not limit one’s ability to participate effectively in the work.  For Triangles is a group endeavor – a global community of men and women who believe in the power of thought to change conditions.  It is ever true that the group is more than the sum of its parts and by participating in this daily ritual the individual effort can be bolstered and strengthened.  Participation in the Triangles world creates a vast receiving triangular “network of similarity” for the simplicity of the soul to be tapped and to “work out.” This is the evolving and conditioning “like” of the personality that eventually attracts to itself the “higher like” of the Over-Soul as it exists on Its own level. Then through the establishment of a type of harmonic resonance between that which is above and that which is below the inherent life can flow more freely and purely into this network of similarity. The individual’s personal spiritual life is enhanced in greater or lesser degree, with more or less “speed” to the degree that that individual life replicates the same triplicity of qualities inherent in the group soul. The beauty, even wisdom, of the network is that perfection of units is not required because the vast receptivity of the network provides a balancing and evenness of these qualities in humanity as a whole

Finally, through an increasing “harmony of similarity” between the individual, group, and network as a whole, a type of communion on a higher turn of the spiral is achieved.  As the life of the Over-Soul flows in through the network the energies increasingly begins to emerge into manifestation.  The work of Triangles creates a communion of higher and lower through shared co-working into the emergence of the simplicity of Will-to-Good, Love/Wisdom, and Light.

The beauty of this process,  its “simplicity,” is contained in and expressed through the distributory tool of the Great Invocation. As Light descends on Earth, or as it emerges, similarity of human, hierarchical, and divine mind is working out. As Love streams forth and emerges in human hearts through the network, a similarity of love/wisdom results. As the Purpose of the Over-Soul guides “all little human wills,” impressed through the Triangles network, a similarity of will-to-good results and goodwill becomes a universal manifestation – letting there be an emergence of the Plan-“on Earth.”
