The Spiritual Side of Austerity

Economic austerity may be a “blessing in disguise”. If we consider the path of the self-chosen renunciation of material wealth for spiritual purposes, there may be important lessons that will help humanity avoid the extremes of luxury and poverty which currently afflict the world.

FREEDOM AND SELF-DETERMINATION

While the force of circumstance, both individual and global, can sometimes seem to severely constrain our ability to determine our own fate, the inner freedom to choose our response to circumstance can lead to a recognition of the part which every individual plays in the evolution of human consciousness, and the responsibility to use this in service to the whole.

Wasser ist eines der einfachsten Moleküle im Universum, das aus zwei seiner häufigsten Elemente, Wasserstoff und Sauerstoff, besteht. Gemessen an seinem Gewicht macht es mehr als die Hälfte jedes Menschen aus und ist für alles organische Leben unentbehrlich. Trotz seiner Einfachheit weist Wasser einige höchst ungewöhnliche Eigenschaften auf – ein bekanntes Beispiel ist die Tatsache, dass Eis tatsächlich eine geringere Dichte als flüssiges Wasser hat. Diese lebenswichtige Flüssigkeit hat im Laufe der Jahre zahlreiche Forscher in ihren Bann gezogen: Ein früher Pionier war der Österreicher Viktor Schauberger, der die Natur von Wirbeln im Wasser erforschte. Jüngste Arbeiten, die sich mit den elektrischen Eigenschaften von Wasser befassen, werden derzeit an der University of Washington unter der Leitung von Dr. Gerald Pollack, Professor für Bioingenieurwesen, durchgeführt. Seine Arbeit stellt mehrere wissenschaftliche Orthodoxien in Frage, darunter die Vorstellung, dass positive und negative elektrische Ladungen im Wasser getrennt bleiben können.
