The Leo Radiance

The premise of my talk today is that as we strengthen our own etheric bodies we also contribute to the strengthening of the planet’s etheric web, since that is how we are all connected. Every time we clear something away that is in our own field, we let more light in and that light, in turns, brightens up the entire planetary network. So, we need to acknowledge the power that we all have to influence the healing of our planet.

This month the sun is in the constellation of Leo. So, we might ask ourselves how can we use the Leo energies to help us become more light filled? At all three levels of planetary influence Leo is ruled by the sun:  the exoteric, meaning the personality, the esoteric, meaning the Soul and the Hierarchical level which is pure Spirit. We know that the energy of Leo will impact us at whatever level of consciousness we identify with. So, for instance, if we are mostly identified with ourselves as a personality, then it is our personality that will be stimulated during this month. The Leo personality uses the energy of the sun to shine the spotlight on himself. He is the center. The more evolved Leo will radiate the light of the Soul outward as good will to all of humanity. So, raising our consciousness to a higher level or vibratory frequency, is part of our spiritual practice especially around the time of the full moon. Our purpose at that time is to be open and receptive to the highest energies of Leo.

So how do we become more radiant beings of light this month? How do we enliven our etheric bodies? Well, since the sun is the ruler of Leo on all three levels it seems apparent that one way is to align ourselves with the energy of the sun.

I’d like to share with you now a mantram that is descriptive of the Leo energies. This might be familiar to many of you.

More radiant than the sun
Purer than the snow
Subtler than the ethers
Is the Self
The Spirit within me
I am that Self
That Self am I.

The first time I heard this mantram I started weeping. There was such a deep longing within me to know that I was that Self. Not just to understand it or accept it on an intellectual level, but to know in my very bones that this was me. I was a divine being. I was sharing this feeling with my daughter one day when she stopped and left the room to find this poem, by Rumi, to share  with me.

“Lo, I am with you always, means when you look for God,
God is in the look in your eyes,
In the thought of looking,
Nearer to you than yourself,
Or of things that have happened to you.
There’s no need to go outside
Be melting snow
Wash yourself of yourself
A white flower grows in the quietness
Let your tongue become that flower”

So when you look for God, when you yearn for that union, God is in that yearning…..nearer to you than yourself or things that have happened to you. Wash yourself of that old small self….be the flower that grows in the quietness. I believe that the more we embody this knowing the lighter we become. We expand, we shine, and we radiate.

One of Leo’s imperatives is to radiate. So this month we can call it in, we can invoke this radiance every day.  Through this means we can practice being the radiant sun that we are and in that act we light up the world.

Let’s take a moment now to get comfortable, to close our eyes, to become still, and go within.

In your mind’s eye, imagine there is a sun at the center of your chest (pause).

Imagine that sun shining 360 degrees from that center (Pause).

See yourself, now, walking through your day with that sun radiating outward to everyone you see and interact with (pause).

Now consider that the light that is within you is also within each person you see (Pause).

How does this change your experience of engaging with the people in your life (Pause)?

Can you allow the boundaries between yourself and another to blur and become fluid so that you connect, heart to heart? Letting go of this rigid sense of “I and You (pause)? Can you feel the warmth in your heart expand as you do this? Imagine this radiant light, now filling your etheric body and enlivening it (Pause). See the brilliance of this light surrounding you, interfacing with your physical body. Now imagine this light surrounding you, connecting powerfully with the etheric network around the planet (pause). In your mind’s eye see the earth light up until the network of triangles surrounding the earth becomes a beacon of light in the cosmos. This is our destiny after all, to be a beacon of light in our universe.

Bring yourselves gently back now to the room in which you are sitting.

I’d like to close with this quote from Discipleship in the New Age, Vol. II:

“Let the pure light of reason and understanding dispel the fogs in which I long have walked.
Let the mists disappear and let the clouds of care disperse within the radiant light of the sun which shineth ever in the fog.
That sun is found within my mind. Within that sun, I stand.”  Om Om Om

Sirius and Venus -- a Synchronous Period of Alignment

We are now in the preparatory phase for the Leo full moon which takes place next week on Thursday, August 15th.  Karen will be sharing some thoughts with us about this particular energy after the meditation.

It is the responsibility of Triangles workers to help expand human consciousness through the revelatory power of light.  As given out in the teachings of the ageless wisdom, each sign of the zodiac conveys a particular quality of light that is symbolized by a keynote.  The particular light of Leo is called “the light of the soul.”  This light is qualified by the light of the Sun itself and particularly the Heart of the Sun and calls forth the energy of solar fire which burns so brightly at this time of the year.

The Leo full moon has a special relationship with the great star Sirius.  The Tibetan had predicted that the Leo Festival will become observed as a time to make an approach to that star.  We are planting the seeds for this approach now as increasing numbers of people, working in small groups here and there, are recognizing that due to the extraordinary nature of the times in which we live we are being called to play our part as receiving agents for this inpouring extra-planetary influence.

It’s always helpful to review the alignment that is set up at this full moon. The emanating point is the star Sirius, the major second ray star of sensitivity.  Sirius is the conveyor of manas, or higher mind.  The great Lord Who embodies this star Sirius is said to have a strong karmic relationship with the Lord of our tiny nonsacred planet.  During this month that relationship is affirmed and a door is opened whereby this energy of divine Love can pour into our world.

So the sequence of energy influx is:

Sirius

Regulus -- a royal star which lies at the heart of the constellation Leo

The Heart of the Sun

Venus -- the fifth ray star which transmits the energies of the controlling fifth ray influence that pour through Leo

The Christ--The spiritual Hierarchy

The heart in the head center.

Human hearts everywhere.

The powerful influx of manasic energy that pours in at this time results in illumination of the mind and heart.  This influx of energy is channeled through the planet Venus, the fifth ray planet.  As students of esoteric astrology know, the planet Venus and Earth have an exceedingly close relationship and are said to be opposites. Venus stands as the soul to the Earth’s personality.  Venus takes in light from the sun and higher sources and gives this light to Earth.

And at this Leo full moon period we have a powerful synchronicity between a major cycle of Venus which coincides with this major Leo full moon.  Venus is moving through its exterior conjunction with the sun -- one of the major cycles in the Sun-Venus-Earth relationship when Venus stands upon the opposite side of the sun from the Earth.  This cycle occurs every 18 months and is known as the Venus full moon period, when Venus is passing through a time of contemplation, her higher interlude period.  At these times Venus turns her attention to extra-planetary influences and surely this great star Sirius is one such major influence.  The Venus Sun conjunction occurs one day prior to the Leo full moon. We can be alert to this opportunity and observe this as a special time of safeguarding.

A favorite passage from Esoteric Astrology beautifully illustrates the opportunity being conferred upon humanity:

“The little one upon that little world responded slowly to that light until today humanity begins to throb in rhythmic unison. Changes are wrought. The cosmic heart, the heart systemic and the little human heart begin to beat as one and as this beat pulsates with greater strength it blends a lower note (that of the solar plexus. A.A.B.) within itself, removes its harshness and its note of fear and thus it ends illusion. And then again the two are one” (Esoteric Astrology, p. 431).
