Time

We have said that there is no need to synchronise in time with our Triangles partners, that the work can be done at any time of the day. In reality we are creating a matrix in consciousness on the mental plane that is vivified through our daily striving to link with our partners in thought and together to say the Great Invocation. As we know, a thought once created continues to exist even after our minds have moved on to thinking about something else. And it is our daily effort to re-engage with our Triangles partners and revisit the words of the Great Invocation that we strengthen this thoughtform increasing its potency and power to change human thinking. We thus, work like the Hierarchy, whose joint ashramic meditation is called by us the Plan.

A thought therefore, exists simultaneously in the past, present and future. And, given that the entire universe has been created and evolves through the power of thought, which is only another word for controlled meditation, we can surmise that its past, present and future must therefore, exist simultaneously too. Which leads to the question, what is time?  Einstein is quoted as saying that the, ‘distinction between past, present and future is only a stubbornly persistent illusion’. John Wheeler the theoretical physicist who worked with Niels Bohr to explain the basic principles behind nuclear fusion is quoted as saying that time is ‘what prevents everything from happening at once’.1 Time is purely a product of consciousness, or in the Tibetan’s words, a ‘sequence of the states of consciousness, as registered by the human brain’.2 The thoughtform in which we live and move and have our being, while to us has a past, present and future, is a reality that exists in all its phases, all at once. It is a product of the combined meditation of numerous subjective, spiritual and mental groups; and it is held in place by the will of the planetary Logos who manifests through the three major Rays. We read that;

 ‘In point of time the cosmic Lord of active Intelligence, considered from the standpoint of cosmic evolution, is more evolved than His two Brothers.  He is the life of matter, its latent internal Fire.  His is the fire essence that lies at the heart of the Sun, of the planet, and of man's material forms.  He is the sumtotal of the Past.

The Lord of Cosmic Love now seeks union with His Brother, and, in point of time, embodies all the Present. ..He is the Son divine and His life and nature evolves through every existent form.  The Lord of Cosmic Will holds hid the future within His plans and consciousness.  They are all three the Sons of one Father, all three the aspects of the One God, all three are Spirit, all three are Soul, and all three are Rays emanating from one cosmic centre.  All three are substance, but in the past one Lord was the elder Son, in the present another Lord comes to the fore, and in the future still another.  But this is so only in Time.  From the standpoint of the Eternal Now, none is greater nor less than another, for the last shall be first, and the first last.  Out of manifestation time is not’.3

Time is therefore, a result of consciousness and while conventional thinking suggests that time only moves forward, research is beginning to suggest that time is not quite so straightforward or predictable. That choices made in the present might actually change what took place in the past. Experiments undertaken by Wheeler with a variation on the famous double-slit experiment showed that when a decision was made after the experiment was under way (the present), it determined how the particle behaved when the experiment began (in the past).

So, if the past is affected by what happens in the present in the world of particles then it can surely happen to us, as we are made up of particles, even though we are seemingly locked into the events we perceive of as reality through our consciousness of time. This has massive implications for our relationship with time, because the ‘choices we make today may, in fact, directly affect things that have already happened in the past’. 4

Branden in his book The Divine Matrix says that ‘It could be we already change our past as we learn from our mistakes, and we’ve been doing so all the time. Maybe it’s so common for our choices to reverberate backward in time that this occurs without our knowing it or even giving it a second thought’.   He goes on to say that our world may work like a cosmic feedback loop - with lessons of the present changing the past. 5

While this may seem really difficult to take on board, if we look at it in terms of relationships, we begin to gain some idea of its truth. For example, if one through the power of forgiveness can heal a relationship in the present, one finds that the cleavages that existed between these two parties in the past fade in the light of forgiveness.  It becomes increasingly difficult to remember or understand what it was that maintained the cleavage because the power of true forgiveness works backward.

Through our work in meditation we are trying to transcend time, to recognise and see in the moment the unity of all that exists, where there is no separation between the past and the present from the future. We strive to become then what we truly are, points of divine dynamic will, focused in the soul but arriving at an awareness of Being through the use of the form. Identified then with the larger purpose where each moment is seen in relation to divine purpose

So, as we go about our Triangles visualisation, let us recognise that as we do so we are not only preparing the seeds for the future but are also healing the past.
