New Moon Meeting

“STRENGTHENING THE HANDS OF THE NEW GROUP OF WORLD SERVERS”

Meditation is the primary form of service for those following a spiritual path. It is a means of cooperation and alignment with hierarchical intent. The new moon period follows upon the cycle of out-breathing in the rhythmic cycles of the breath; it is a time of pause wherein together we can establish a soul-mind-brain alignment.  During this period we work in thought to concretize the ideas and impressions received at the time of the full moon period and undertake the sometimes difficult process of translating them into practical plans that can be of service in the world. The effect of this meditative effort is to enhance the many ways in which the “power of the one Life” and the “love of the one soul” are working out through all true servers everywhere. The meeting will be held in the library of our offices at 866 United Nations Plaza, Suite 482 on the fourth floor and will include an exploration of the theme Economic Conditions that Precede the Reappearance of the Christ, followed by group discussion and meditation. Please call or email us if you will be attending or contribute your thoughts prior to the meeting. We will share them with the group when possible.

Economic Conditions that Precede the Reappearance of the Christ
In The Externalisation of the Hierarchy, Alice Bailey writes that we, the so-called “little man and the unimportant citizen,” hold tremendous economic power. Our collective power is so great, she continues, that we can permanently re-channel the flow of money toward higher spiritual purposes; this re-channeling is a necessary step in preparing the way for the Reappearance of the Christ.

In many ways, we can see that this work has begun. For instance, the concept of “sustainability,” which holds that need and the fulfillment of that need must remain in balance, has become mainstream in the worlds of industry, finance, and government. Further, the growing popularity of anti-consumerism, minimalism, and other mindful approaches to the use of goods and services indicates a shift away from materialistic thinking. Finally, this year three researchers from Harvard University received the Nobel Memorial Prize in economics for their groundbreaking work on global poverty, which suggests solutions to some intractable problems facing populations with limited access to resources.

As members of the New Group of World Servers, we can draw inspiration and ideas from these examples and look to our own environments for ways in which we might introduce light around these important economic issues.

Questions for Reflection and Discussion:

1. What economic indications presaging the Reappearance of the Christ have you noticed in your immediate environment? In the world at large?
2. What further economic changes can you envision that would prepare the way for the Reappearance?
