Dear friend,
In the stress of modern life there are probably times when most of us yearn for a more peaceful, carefree existence in which to contemplate the inner dimensions of our nature. And yet beneath the surface of our busy lives there exists a place of peace so profound that it could have no imaginable counterpart in the outer world. This place is the secret chamber of the heart where the silence is so intense it forms an opening between the human kingdom and the kingdom of the Soul. Its discovery requires the heart to be galvanised into action so that a stream of love flows through the chamber opening it up and revealing its source. For the great and simple truth is that the search for the divinity within can only be successful when there is a simultaneous search without – an outreach on a stream of love towards the heart of each and every life encountered in the playground of forces that make up daily life.
The heart is the fundamental organ of the Soul which is group conscious and whose natural inclination is loving service to one and all; this is as vital to its existence in its own world as the breath is to the human being in this one. And in times of crisis and of uncertainty, when humanity stands desperate for direction and change, "the Heart of God – impelled by the law of compassion – sends forth a Teacher, a World Saviour, an Illuminator, an Avatar"1, to evoke human hearts and strengthen the two way flow of light and love between the kingdom of Souls and the kingdom of humanity.
The three spiritual festivals are unique opportunities to further invoke this flow of light and love and prepare the way for the coming World Teacher and the new Aquarian age of loving service.The energy of love and the expansive power of joy associated with Aquarius are on the increase even at this time, strange as it may seem given the stress and strain of modern life and the many crises that are currently facing humanity. It is evidence though that love and joy are of the Soul not the personality. Joy is not to be confused with happiness for it can be experienced regardless of outer circumstances; and indeed, it is often seen in those whose outer lives appear full of hardship and endurance. Like love, joy is also a great revealing energy, helping the consciousness to resonate to new truths and spiritual principles; as such it is one of the keys to unlocking the world of meaning that stands behind this outer world of appearances.
This world of meaning is barely describable in words for it can only be understood intuitively in the heart where the soul-infused consciousness is automatically aligned with the loving purpose of God. The waves of divine energy that are constantly breaking on the collective consciousness of humanity are then registered directly along with an understanding of how they are steadily awakening and preparing mankind for the glory to come. This is beautifully portrayed in the words of the Mantram of Unification: “Let the soul control the outer form and life and all events, And bring to light the love which underlies the happenings of the time.”
Revelation of the world of meaning is the theme of the Arcane School conference in New York, Geneva and London this year, which you are warmly invited to attend. The keynote we will be working with is: Let the Path of Recognitions lead to Group Revelation. It is an interesting conundrum that the path to revelation is a path of recognitions, for the word recognition means “to know again”. A human being is a ‘strand of loving energy’ that has crystallised from the ‘stream of Love Divine’ into the material world, losing the sense of its true identity along the way. Human evolution is the quest of rediscovering this heritage of love and unlocking its reflected essence in the heart of every atom of creation. Through this process a new type of consciousness is being born – a product of the fires of intelligent love and the fires of matter. It is a process that is steadily fusing the spiritual kingdoms and the outer kingdoms of nature together as one.
As we move towards the higher interlude of the spiritual year and the new energies seeking entrance into human consciousness, let us remember that in every event and circumstance of our daily lives there is the opportunity to serve this great cause through the recognition and further stimulation of love in our surroundings. To the extent that we do this will we find a path of recognitions opening up before us that leads directly to revelation in the secret chamber of the heart.

1 The Externalisation of the Hierarchy
THREE SPIRITUAL FESTIVALS
The flow of spiritual energies reaches a peak during the full moon period. At these times we can – particularly as a group – touch spiritual realities and energies that are normally not so easily available. Our path of approach to the higher worlds then becomes a lighted channel through which these energies can be anchored on earth and radiated through the minds and hearts of all humanity.
The goal is to stimulate vision and support the growing awareness of the unity of all life and our responsibilities towards it.
The annual cycle of full moons reaches its high point in the triple sequence of the Easter Festival, the Wesak Festival, and the Festival of Goodwill. The Easter and Wesak festivals celebrate the lives and inspiration of two of the greatest spiritual leaders and avatars – the Christ and the Buddha.
Easter is the festival of the risen living Christ, the expression of the love of God. It is determined by the date of the full moon of Aries and is the great Western and Christian Festival.
Wesak, the Festival of the Buddha, is the great Eastern celebration. It is observed at the Taurus full moon. The Buddha is the expression of the wisdom of God, the embodiment of light and “the indicator of divine purpose”. Esoteric tradition speaks of an annual ceremony in the Himalayas, where the Buddha appears before the Christ and the Hierarchy.
The Festival of Humanity, celebrating humanity’s innate goodwill, takes place over the full moon of Gemini. This is the festival of our basic aspiration towards human and spiritual unity. It gives voice to a deep invocative appeal to the spiritual Hierarchy for light, love and the will-to-good. This Festival is also observed as World Invocation Day, when a special focus is placed upon the world-wide use of the Great Invocation.

Wesak
The Wesak Festival, at the time of the Taurus full moon, marks the high-water mark of spiritual blessing in the world. There is an unusual inflow of life and of spiritual stimulation which serves to vitalize the aspiration of all humankind. The intuition of all who seek to serve the good, the beautiful and the true (regardless of their faith or spiritual background) is stimulated by this spiritual blessing.
At Wesak we can visualize the aspiration of all people of goodwill being fused into a concentrated invocation to the Buddha, the Christ, and all Enlightened Beings on the inner side of life. This is a time for dedication, a time to hold ourselves steadily in the light, and above all, a time to focus on the needs of our fellow human beings and the necessity of providing a group channel whereby the spiritual forces can be poured through the body of humanity.
A Ceremony in the Himalayas
During this full moon period, the Buddha is said to empower Forces of Enlightenment seeking contact with humanity. At a legendary ceremony in a Himalayan valley He returns year after year to bless an assembled gathering of Enlightened Beings, from the Christ, to the most humble disciple. The ritualistic movement of the participants form geometric patterns on the valley floor, absorbing and generating currents of spiritual force that create a preliminary channel for the potencies the Buddha will bring.
As the exact time of the full moon approaches a heightened expectancy and tension spreads throughout those assembled. The moment of His appearance is characterised by a great Silence, brimming with vitality and significance.
One of the greatest services we can render during this high point of the spiritual calendar is to align with the spirit of Silence in the valley of Wesak. We can prepare to hold the inner connection, even when amid the mundane interactions of daily life.
Keeping a sustained inner silence, and standing as the detached observer, we might well emulate the "silent watchers" of the heavens, observing the flow of thoughts and desires as they pass through us, yet remaining detached from them as we actively engage with the higher energies released by the Buddha. Through the silent tension we generate in the build up to the full moon, we put ourselves in touch, not only with the soul, but with the Spirit aspect whose Presence awaits our contact and invocation. Thus we can serve the greater Whole.
The Buddha’s annual return to bless people everywhere and to convey the message of wisdom, light and love is the outer evidence and guarantee of inner divine guidance and revelation in this present world cycle.

World Invocation Day

On World Invocation Day the Great Invocation is used to invoke spiritual energies of Light, Love and Purpose. The Day has been observed annually since 1952.
We need Light to reveal the way forward; Love to fill our hearts; and we need Enlightened Purpose to guide our human will. These divine energies are abundantly available – we can invoke them now, on behalf of all humanity, at this time in the evolution of a new world.
All major faiths share the belief in a Coming One: Christ, Maitreya, Kalki Avatar, Messiah, Imam Mahdi.
Please use the Great Invocation on World Invocation Day, and every day, with dedication and mindfulness. You will be contributing to the One Work of building right relations.

Ways to Help?
The most important thing any of us can do, is for two days before the full moon, on the day of the full moon itself, and for the next two days use the Great Invocation, at sunrise, noon, five o’clock pm, and sunset, plus the exact time of the full moon. Do this with the intention to invoke and anchor in human consciousness the potent spiritual energies available.
