More About This

The Beacon magazine was founded by Alice and Foster Bailey in 1922 as a forum for esotericists to contribute their visions, to share their experiences, and to develop their ideas about the evolution of humanity and the unfolding Plan for our world.

The Beacon has always maintained that the principles of the Ageless Wisdom form a true basis for a way of life in the modern world that is both deeply spiritual and eminently practical. From the esoteric perspective we know that outer events and circumstances are not just objective phenomena but effects of inner causes. As the conditioning energies of a new age pour in, it is abundantly clear that the ability to apply esoteric understanding of the subjective realities and to work wisely with the inner forces and energies has never been more important than now.

The Beacon provides a forum for the communication of ideas among the worldwide esoteric group. Each issue typically contains contributions by esoteric thinkers on current issues confronting humanity as seen from the world of meaning; analysis of the lives and contributions of world servers known as “Forerunners”—pioneers in the development of human progress; a selection from the Tibetan Master Djwhal Khul’s teachings; and mention of new books and periodicals of special interest to esotericists.
