As we move into the Higher Interlude of this year, and welcome a renewed yearly cycle in Aries, when pure essential energy of Will pours into the very Spirit of the World, let us reflect on Hercules as a myth, and as the paradigm of the spiritual disciple, particularly in relation to this renewed cycle of initiatory activity.

Within our working area we are familiar with triangles in all shapes and sizes.

First of all, the Triangle formed by Will and Purpose - Love-Wisdom - Active Intelligence, the three main rays of our energetic system.

We find modifications of this Triangle in all kinds of religions, for example the Trinity with the Christians, the Trimurti in Hinduism, the Tiratana of Buddhism, the three highest Sefiroth of Jewish Kabbalah and so on[i].

Harmlessness is a virtue which is common to many religions, yet it is often misunderstood. It is much more than just a negative state of refraining from harming others. Beyond that, it also requires the formulation of a positive intention to do good, and the will to act and carry out that intention no matter what.

As many of us know, the Great Invocation is far more than it appears on the surface. In saying this, I do not in the least imply that what it appears to be on the surface is in any way to be disregarded or downplayed. The Great Invocation looks like and is a prayer, and if we take it seriously as a prayer we can actually learn to pray more effectively by using it.
