A mental state of being convinced or fully persuaded defines faith, and whilst this inner conviction is usually thought of in religious terms, it can relate to any field. Scientific theories yet unproven require an inner conviction, the skilled surgeon has confidence in his or her ability to perform an operation and the patient places trust in the doctor.

In connection with the development of the Triangles work, some key statements relating to Japan and its people are found in the Tibetan’s teachings. Firstly, that the Japanese have a particular knowledge of thought power and they would therefore respond more intelligently to this type of work than many others. Another point made states that the meditations of those engaged in the Triangle activities would bring Tokyo into greater functionality as one of the five planetary centres for distributing energies, magnetically drawing out that which is needed to create the atmosphere vital for its distribution work. A compromise, in the ordinary understanding, is an agreement between two parties that pleases neither party completely. But we are seeking to elevate the meaning, and certainly beyond one that focuses on that which pleases or displeases the personality.
