Simon Marlow, Musings By Simon Marlow (Author)
Simon Marlow, Musings By Simon Marlow (Author)
A collection of poems by Simon Marlow (1945 – 2025).
Simon Marlow read music at Cambridge University, and studied the piano with Ivey Dickson. He made his debut recital at the Wigmore Hall in 1973 and around that time appeared as a soloist, in chamber music and in song recitals in England and Germany. Since then, his life took a number of unexpected directions, which have included working for ten years with the Lucis Trust, an educational charity, plus several forays into the world of politics. He has had a busy musical career which has included regular concert appearances in Britain and many other European countries as well as in the United States and Iceland. He has appeared with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, broadcasted and made several recordings.
He relished the challenges of performance and was blessed with many opportunities for creative musical partnerships. He died suddenly in March 2025, five days after giving a splendid last concert in The Hague, Holland.
