Now is the time to rediscover the spirit of community in all social relations.
Sociology literally means “the study of companionship”. When World Goodwill began a focus on the theme of Social Regeneration in late 2021, it was done with the aim of evoking the Spirit of Companionship, imaginatively seeing it pouring through the entire field of human relationships, bringing fresh meaning, purpose, and a sense of future possibilities.
The need to re-imagine social relations in ways that enhance goodwill, sharing and the sense of belonging is one of the most critical needs of our time. During the years of the pandemic, and numerous interlocking crises, it has become even more urgent. This is the time to call forth the imagination and consider the regeneration and reigniting of a spirit of companionship between peoples, communities and nations; and between humanity and the living earth.
This page features a range of resources in the hope that they will stimulate on-going reflection on this spirit of companionship and community.

PDF
In November 2021, friends of World Goodwill and students of the Ageless Wisdom from around the world gathered in ZOOM sessions, broadcast in various languages from Geneva, London and New York, to work with the power of group imagination, intuition and thought. Focusing on the theme of Imagination and Social Regeneration, we used meditation and visualisation, focused listening, and discussion to create group thought-forms and images. Key servers in fields of regenerative design, community development, collective trauma, personal development, and biography work, offered insights based on their experience.

In its early stages, the pandemic revitalised a sense of community spirit and support, with local initiatives to help the more vulnerable springing up, and the celebration of the everyday courage and sacrifice of essential workers. However, as it has progressed, there are signs of a waning of this impulse, with people and nations retreating into a desire for ‘normality’ to be restored. ‘Business as usual’ contends with ‘Build back better’. So now is a good time to re-focus on some of the many groups and initiatives that are actively seeking to regenerate society, so that all groups of people, and all the kingdoms of nature, are in harmonious co-existence.

We find ourselves in the most organized and interconnected period of human history by far, and yet there is a sense of collective loneliness in the heart of humanity.
This 9-page booklet has been adapted from a Lucis Trust booklet issued in advance of the World Goodwill Seminar in November 2021. It includes a letter from Christine Morgan, President of Lucis Trust, exploring the themes of community, freedom and the Word of Companionship as they relate to our time; an extract from Alice Bailey's writings 'The Right Direction of the Human Kingdom' and a meditation outline: 'Strengthening the Hands of the New Group of World Servers'.
